The product of example 1a above, 2-fluoro-6-phenylbenzonitrile, (0.12 g, 0.61 mmol), and isopropylamine (3 mL) were combined in a sealed tube that had been flushed with argon. The tube was heated in an oil bath to 95° C. for 7 days. The excess isopropylamine was evaporated, .and the residue was flash chromatographed on silica gel eluted with 0-3% ethyl acetate in hexane, and then crystallized from hexane to give the title product as a white crystalline product. ES (+) MS m/e=237 (MH+)
