(S)-(Cyclohexyl-{[1-(1-imino-ethyl)-piperidin-4-ylmethyl]-carbamoyl}-methyl)-carbamic acid benzyl ester trifluoroacetic acid salt (340 mg, 0.62 mmol) was hydrogenated in methanol (50 ml) and acetic acid (3 ml) using palladium/charcoal (10%) as a catalyst. The solvent was evaporated and the residue solved in water and lyophilized to give 287 mg of the desired product (88%). MS m/z: 295.4 (M+H)+.
