Procedure

Aldrithiol-2 (1.45 g, 6.59 mmol) was added to a solution of 2-{2-[2-(11-mercapto-undecyloxy)-ethoxy]-ethoxy}-ethanol (1.85 g, 5.49 mmol) in 30 mL of MeOH. After stirring the solution for 42 h at room temperature, the solvent was evaporated, and the residue was purified by flash chromatography (EtOAc) to afford compound S 1.97 g (81%).
