Reaction Steps
To a solution of 1.65 g of the product of Step B in 16.5 ml of methylene chloride cooled to -5° C. there were added 2.85 g of carbon tetrabromide and 2.25 g of triphenylphosphine. The reaction solution was stirred for 30 minutes at 0° C. and chromatogaphed on silica (eluant: methylene chloride-ethyl acetate 90-10) to obtain 1.82 g of the desired product.
