3-ethyl-6-[1-(1H-imidazol-1-yl)-2-methylpropyl]-2(1H)-quinoxalinone; mp. 203.7° C. (comp. 104) and 3-ethyl-7-[1-(1H-imidazol-1-yl)-2-methylpropyl]-2(1H)-quinoxalinone (comp. 314) were prepared following substantially the same procedures as in example 23a were used except that 2-oxobutanoic acid was used in place of 2-oxopentanoic acid.
