A mixture of 5-Methylene-tetrahydro-cyclopenta[c]furan-1,3-dione (2.8 g, 18.4 mmol) and 4-(trifluoromethoxy)benzenamine (2.6 g, 14.7 mmol) was stirred at 180° C. for 0.5 h. The mixture was cooled to room temperature and purified by silica gel column (petroleum/ethyl acetate=5/1) to yield the title compound (3.0 g, 66%). 1H NMR (300 MHz, CDCl3): δ 7.33-7.26 (m, 4H), 4.99 (s, 2H), 3.44-3.41 (m, 2H), 2.84-2.78 (m, 4H); LC-MS: [M+1]+ 312.0.
