Reaction Steps

To a solution of the compound 21 (507 mg) in methanol (7.00 mL) was added potassium carbonate (128 mg) and the solution was stirred at room temperature overnight. The reaction solution was diluted with ethyl acetate and washed with an aqueous saturated ammonium chloride solution and brine. The reaction solution was dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate and concentrated. The obtained residue was purified by column chromatography on silica gel (hexane : ethyl acetate=4:1), to give the title compound (370 mg) having the following physical data.
