To a stirred solution of 2-nitro-5-(pyrrolidin-1-yl)benzenamine (4 mmol) and pyridine (8 mmol) in dry dichloromethane (15 mL) was added dropwise benzoyl chloride (8 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 8 h. The solvent was evaporated in vacuum, and the residue was subjected to flash chromatography on silica gel using a mixture of hexanes and CH2Cl2 as eluent to afford N-(2-nitro-5-(pyrrolidin-1-yl)phenyl)benzamide as a solid.
