40 mg 2-methyl-2-{[1-(4-phenyl-butyl)-naphthalene-2-carbonyl]-amino}-propionic acid methyl ester were reacted with 150 μl of 2 M sodium hydroxide in 1 ml methanol and 1 ml THF for 1 h at 60° C. The reaction mixture was then acidified with 2 M hydrochloric acid and the precipitated product was collected by filtration and dried in vacuo to yield 26 mg of 2-methyl-2-{[1-(4-phenyl-butyl)-naphthalene-2-carbonyl]-amino}-propionic acid.
