Procedure
5-Amino-6-(cycloheptylamino)pyridin-2-ol, prepared in a similar manner as the one described in Example 1.3 from 6-(cycloheptylamino)-5-nitropyridin-2-ol (0.225 g, 0.895 mmol), was taken up in ethanol (20 mL). Cyanogen bromide (0.153 g, 1.34 mmol) was then added. The resulting solution was stirred at room temperature overnight. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by preparative HPLC to give the title compound (0.004 g). LCMS m/z=247.0 [M+H]+; 1H NMR (400 MHz, acetonitrile-d3) δ ppm 1.50-1.80 (m, 6H), 1.80-2.05 (m, 4H), 2.45-2.55 (m, 2H), 4.25-4.35 (m, 1H), 6.55 (d, J=8.5 Hz, 1H), 7.59 (d, J=8.5 Hz, 1H).
