6-(Benzyloxy)-N2-(4-ethylphenyl)pyridine-2,3-diamine (358 mg, 1.12 mmol) was dissolved in THF (1.0 mL). Trimethyl orthoacetate (1.0 mL) was added followed by TFA (10 μL). The mixture was stirred at room temperature overnight and concentrated in vacuo. The benzyl group was then removed as described in Example 1.98, Step B to give the title compound as a white solid (55.3 mg). LCMS m/z=254.3 [M+H]+.
