Procedure

To a solution of 6-bromo-N2-((3-bromoquinolin-6-yl)methyl)pyrazine-2,3-diamine (300 mg, 0.73 mmol) in 5 mL of acetic acid was added dropwise a solution of NaNO2 (150 mg, 2.17 mmol) in 0.5 mL of water at 20° C. The mixture was stirred at rt overnight. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure and the residue was purified by flash chromatography on silica gel eluting with DCM/methanol gradient to afford the title compound (130 mg, 42%). 1H-NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3) δ ppm 8.84 (s, 1H), 8.71 (s, 1H), 8.24 (s, 1H), 8.01 (d, 1H), 7.74 (s, 2H), 5.99 (s, 2H). LCMS (method E): [MH]+=421, tR=5.50 min.
