0.18 g (0.8 mmol) of 4-phenoxy-2,5-dimethylaniline was dissolved in 2.5 ml of toluene and this solution was then admixed with 0.18 ml of a solution of N-ethyl-N-methylformamide dimethyl acetal in methanol (60%). After 12 h of stirring of the reaction mixture at 50° C., subsequent filtration and removal of the solvent under reduced pressure, 240 mg (94.8% purity, 96.6% yield) of the product were obtained; log P(HCOOH)=1.87.
