Procedure

To a solution of (S)-4-(2,5-dimethyl-4-nitrophenyl)oxazolidin-2-one (55 mg, 0.23 mmol) in MeOH (5 mL) was added Pd/C (5 mg, 10% w/w). The mixture was degassed and stirred at room temperature under 1 atm. H2 for 14 h. The Pd/C was removed by filtering through Celite. The filtrate was concentrated to provide (S)-4-(4-amino-2,5-dimethylphenyl)-oxazolidin-2-one which was used in the next step without further purification; ESMS m/z 207.1 (M+H+).
