Procedure
5-Methoxy-2-methyl-1-[(2-quinolyl)methyl]-1H-indole-3-acetic acid hydrazide. Using the method described in Example 1, Part G, 446 mg (1.15 mmol) of 5-methoxy-2-methyl-1-[(2-quinolyl)methyl]-1H-indole-3-acetic acid ethyl ester was reacted with 1.0 mL of hydrazine to give on crystallization from MeOH 238 mg (55% yield) of 5-methoxy-2-methyl-1-[(2-quinolyl)methyl]-1H-indole-3-acetic acid hydrazide, mp, 173°-175° C.
