A solution of ca. 25 mg of N-[1(R)-[[3-[N-[[[phenylmethoxy]carbonyl]methyl]-N-(methylsulfonyl)amino]-2,3-dihydrospiro[1H-indene-1,4'-piperidin]-1'-yl]carbonyl]-2-(indole-3-yl)ethyl]-2-amino-2-methylpropanamide from Example 149, Step D, in 0.5 mL of methanol containing 25 mg of 10% Pd/C, is shaken under a 50 psi atmosphere of hydrogen over night. After filtration and taking the filtrate to dryness under reduced pressure, the title compound is obtained.
