Procedure
Methyl 6-(2-phenoxyacetamido)-2-methyl-2-bromomethylpenam-3-carboxylate (350 mg.) was dissolved in chloroform (10 cc), and then the mixture was allowed to stand for 4 days and purified by chromatography of silica gel to give an amorphous material (200 mg.) of methyl 7-(2-phenoxyacetamido)-3-bromo-3-methylcepham-4-carboxylate.
Workup
- custompurified by chromatography of silica gel
