Procedure

1 ml of methanol was added to a mixture of the product of Example 23 and 1.5 ml of molar sodium acetate in methanol and the mixture was diluted with 6 ml of ethanol and was vacuum filtered. The recovered product was washed with ethanol and empasted with ether to obtain 235 mg of the syn isomer of sodium 3-acetoxymethyl-7-[2-(2-amino-4-thiazolyl)-2-{2-(2-aminophenylthio)-ethoxyimino}-acetamido]-ceph-3-eme-4-carboxylate.
