Procedure

11.5 g (0.10 mol) of 2-hydroxymethylpiperidine are dissolved in 100 ml of ether, and 24.9 g (0.10 mol) of 3-methyl-4-(1,1,2,2-tetrafluoroethoxy)-phenyl isocyanate, dissolved in 70 ml of ether, are added dropwise at 20° C. The mixture is stirred for 2 hours at 20° C. and cooled in an ice bath, and the precipitate which has been deposited is filtered off with suction. 32.1 g (88% of theory) of 2-hydroxymethyl-1-{N-[3-methyl-4-(1,1,2,2,-tetrafluoroethoxy)-phenyl]-carbamoyl}-piperidine are obtained after drying, in the form of colorless crystals, melting point 122°-126° C.
