Procedure
The mixture of 6-Bromopyridine-2-carboxylic acid (2.01 g, 10 mmol) and benzene-1,2-diamine (1.08, 10 mmol) in polyphosphoric acid was heated at 220° C. for 4 h. The solution was poured into ice-water, and the formed precipitate was collected by filtration and further washed with NaHCO3 and water. After recrystallization in ethanol, the desired product was obtained in yield of 65% (1.76 g). 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3, ppm): 8.31 (d, 2H, J=7.2 Hz), 8.03 (t, 1H, J=7.6 Hz), 7.63 (m, 2H), 7.24 (s, 2H). 13C NMR (100 MHz, CDCl3): 150.20, 148.63, 142.46, 139.46, 135.32, 129.87, 128.04, 124.30, 123.29, 122.92, 120.21, 110.09.
