Reaction Steps

To a stirred solution of tert-butyl 4-(4-(((4,6-dimethyl-2-oxo-1,2-dihydropyridin-3-yl)methyl)carbamoyl)-6-(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridin-4-yl)-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridin-1-yl)piperidine-1-carboxylate (0.5 g, 0.8 mmol) in DCM (10 mL), TFA (0.3 mL) was added at 0° C. and reaction stirred at room temperature for 1 h. After completion of reaction, solvent was removed under reduced pressure and residue neutralized with saturated NaHCO3 solution Extraction was carried out using DCM; the combined organic layers were washed with water, brine and dried over anhydrous Na2SO4; filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure. Finally the residue was washed with diethyl ether to provide the desired compound (0.4 g, 95.7%).
