Reaction Steps

The product from step 1 (100 mg, 0.26 mmol) was dissolved in 2 ml EtOH, and NaBH4 (7.5 mg, 0.196 mmol) in 0.5 ml H2O was added and the mixture stirred at rt for 2 h. The mixture was then quenched with 3N NaOH, and 5 ml of ether was added to extract the compound, which was dried over MgSO4 and concentrated to give yellow oil (79 mg, 90.1%).
