Reaction Steps
17,17-Bis(ethylendioxy)-7α-formamidoandrostane was prepared in 92% yield from 3,3:17,17-bis(ethylendioxy)-7α-aminoandrostane by the procedure described above for the preparation of 3,3:17,17-bis(ethylendioxy)-6α-formamidoandrostane (II-bc, Prepn. 28). 1H-NMR (300 MHz, DMSO-d6, ppm from TMS: δ 8.23 (dd, 1H), 7.97 (d, 1H), 4.00-3.70 (m, 8H), 1.85-1.05 (m, 20H), 0.76 (s, 3H), 0.74 (s, 3H).
