Reaction Steps

Trans-6-{[4-(2-Chloro-5-trifluoromethyl-benzoylamino)-cyclohexylmethyl]-amino}-nicotinic acid methyl ester (Example 19.15) (30 mg, 0.06 mmol) is placed in a vial with MeOH (2 mL). 1M NaOH (1 mL) is added and the reaction mixture is stirred at RT for 3 days. The reaction mixture is acidified and the resulting precipitate in the aqueous layer which was filtered and dried to afford the title compound.
