Procedure
2-Methyl-4-(2-methyl-[1,3′]bipyrrolidinyl-1′-yl)-phenylamine (1.52 g, 5.84 mmol) was dissolved in DCM (30 mL). To this solution was transferred a solution of 2-fluorobenzoyl chloride in DCM (2 mL), followed by pyridine (7.5 mL). The solution was stirred at r.t. for 2 h when TLC (10% MeOH in DCM) and LC/MS showed that the reaction was complete. The reaction was quenched with polymer bounded diethylenetriamine (4 mmol/g, 1.5 g) and the suspension was stirred for 30 min. Then, 10 mL of DCM was added to the suspension and the suspension was filtered through a Celite pad, rinsed with DCM and 10% MeOH in DCM. The crude product was purified on a silica gel column eluted with 2%, 5% and 7.5% MeOH in DCM to obtain the title compound as a yellow solid, 1.79 g (80%). LCMS: RT=1.53 minutes, MS: 382 (M+H).
