Reaction Steps

A mixture of 4-methylbenzenethiol (1.24 g), 2-chloroethylamine HCl (2.3 g) and Cs2CO3 (5.3 g) in CH3CN (30 mL) was stirred at 50° C. for 2 days. To the reaction mixture were added EtOAc (50 mL) and H2O (30 mL). The organic phase was separated, washed with H2O (2×30 mL) and concentrated under reduced pressure to give product 24. Yield: 1.67 g, 95%.
