1-Benzyloxycarbonylamino-4-oxo-cycloheptanecarboxylic acid methyl ester was hydrogenated in analogy to step 3 of example 51 and transformed into the title compound by reaction with 4-methoxy-3-(2-m-tolyl-ethoxy)-benzoic acid in analogy to step 3 of example 1.
