In a 10-mL glass vessel equipped with a magnetic stirring bar were placed 125a (116 mg, 0.39 mmol), 2-(1-oxo-3,4,6,7,8,9-hexahydropyrazino[1,2-a]indol-2(1H)-yl)-6-(4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolan-2-yl)benzyl acetate 114a (200 mg, 0.43 mmol), Pd(PPh3)4 (30 mg, 0.0.26 mmol) in 2 N Na2CO3 (2 mL) and 1,2-dimethoxyethane (5 mL). The vessel was sealed with a septum and placed into the microwave cavity. After the reaction mixture was stirred at 125° C. for 7 min., it was purified by flash chromatography (dichloromethane:methanol, 85:15) to give 23% (50 mg) of 125b as a solid.
