To a solution of 3-(5-methyl-3-pyridin-2-yl-isoxazol-4-ylmethoxy)-isoxazole-5-carboxylic acid methyl ester (100 mg, 0.32 mmol) and isopropyl amine (22 mg, 0.37 mmol) in toluene (1 mL) was added 1,5,7-triazabicyclo[4.4.0]dec-5-ene (26 mg, 0.19 mmol) and the reaction stirred under argon for 3 h at 50° C. Then the mixture was evaporated and the residue purified by chromatography (silica, heptane:ethyl acetate=4:1 to 1:1) to afford the title compound (95 mg, 83%) which was obtained as an off-white solid. MS: m/e=343.2 [M+H]+.
