5-(5-Ethyl-2-methyl-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyridin-3-yl)thiophene-2-sulfonyl chloride is reacted with 2-(1,3-dioxolan-2-yl)ethylamine as described in Step 5, Example 24 to give the title compound as a solid (50.5% yield). LC/MS: RT 2.58 min; m/e 399 (M+H); 1H NMR (δ, ppm): 11.8 (1H, s), 7.8 (1H, br s); 7.56 (1H, d); 7.35 (1H, s), 7.18 (1H, d), 4.8 (1H, t), 3.8 (2H, m), 3.75 (2H, m), 2.95 (2H, m), 2.4 (2H, q), 2.36 (3H, s), 1.75 (2H, m), 1.08 (3H, t).
