5-(5-Ethyl-2-methyl-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyridin-3-yl)thiophene-2-sulfonyl chloride is reacted with (furan-2-yl)methylamine as described in Step 5, Example 24 to give the title compound as a light orange solid (78% yield). LC/MS: RT 2.75 min; m/e 379 (M+H); 1H NMR (δ, ppm): 11.3 (1H, s), 8.42 (1H, t), 7.54 (1H, s), 7.50 (1H, t), 7.30 (1H, s), 7.11 (1H, d), 6.35 (1H, d), 6.22 (1H, s), 4.12 (2H, d), 2.41 (2H, q), 2.30 (3H, s), 1.10 (3H, t).
