(+)-(Morphinan-3-yloxy)methyl pivalate trifluoroacetic acid salt (240 mg, 0.509 mmol) from Example 62 was dissolved in EtOAc (20 mL) and washed with saturated NaHCO3 solution (20 mL×2). To the EtOAc layer was added succinic acid (60.1 mg, 0.509 mmol). The mixture was stirred at 40° C. for 10 min. and cooled to room temperature. The precipitated solution was filtered and washed with EtOAc (10 mL) to provide the title compound (243 mg, 100%) as a white solid.
