| Product | 4-((5-Chloropentyl)oxy)benzonitrile | HCID 19381510 | — |
Reaction Steps
In step 1-1, 4-hydroxy-benzonitrile (2; R4=H, X3=O) is reacted with 1-bromo-5-chloropentane (3; Br—X2—Cl: X2=pentylene), giving 4-(5-chloro-pentoxy)-benzonitrile (4). The reaction temperature is preferably maintained in the range of 10 to 90° C., for 1 to 9 hours and the reaction solvent is acetonitrile, dimethylformamide, etc. To ensure that the above reaction occurs under a basic condition, an inorganic basic compound such as potassium carbonate, sodium hydroxide, sodium hydride, etc, may be used.
