Procedure
6-chloro-8-methyl-3-phenyl[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-b]pyridazine x240 is dissolved in ethanol (300 ml), and 10% Pd/C (0.9 g) and 25% aqueous ammonia (60 ml) are added. The mixture is hydrogenated in the Parr apparatus under hydrogen pressure 2.5 atm at room temperature for 1 h 10. The reaction mixture is filtered through a Celite layer, which is washed with ethanol. The combined filtrates are evaporated, and the residue is dissolved in dichloromethane. The solution is washed with brine and dried over anhydrous Na2SO4. The solvent is removed under reduced pressure to afford 2.9 g of 8-methyl-3-phenyl[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-b]pyridazine x241.
