Procedure

Under nitrogen atmosphere 40 g of 2-amino-3-carbethoxyamino-6-(4-fluoro-benzylamino)-pyridine were dissolved in 1100 ml of Ethanol (90%) at 60° C. 8 g of acetic acid were dissolved in 200 ml of ethanol at 20° C. The mixture was cooled down to 40° C. While stirring the solution of acetic acid was added. The solution was filtered at 20° C. and crystallisation occurred while cooling the solution down to −15° C. for 24 h. The product was collected by filtration and dried at reduced pressure at room temperature for 12 h. As a result of drying 38.0 g white crystals of the product were obtained.
