The 6-methyl-6′-(3-nitro-phenyl)-4-(4-trifluoromethyl-phenyl)-[2,2′]bipyridinyl was prepared from 6′-bromo-6-methyl-4-(4-trifluoromethyl-phenyl)-[2,2′]bipyridinyl (example E.26) (5.0 g, 12.71 mmol) and commercially available 3-nitrophenylboronic acid (2.547 g, 15.26 mmol) according to the general procedure VI. Obtained as a white solid (3.7 g, 66%). MS (ISP) 436.2 [(M+H)+].
