The 4-methyl-2′-(3-nitro-phenyl)-6-(4-trifluoromethyl-phenyl)-[2,4′]bipyridinyl was prepared from 2′-chloro-4-methyl-6-(4-trifluoromethyl-phenyl)-[2,4′]bipyridinyl (example E.94) (1.25 g, 3.6 mmol) and commercially available 3-nitrophenylboronic acid (0.718 g, 4.3 mmol) according to the general procedure VI. Obtained as a light brown solid (1.03 g, 66%). MS (ISP) 436.1 [(M+H)+]; mp 91° C.
