According to the general procedure (GP12), chlorination of 1-iodo-3-methoxymethyl-8-[2-(4-trifluoromethyl-phenyl)-ethyl]-5,6-dihydro-8H-imidazo[1,5-a]pyrazine-7-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (720 mg; 1.274 mmol) and purification by FC (DCM/MeOH=60/1) gave the expected product 1-chloro-3-methoxymethyl-8-[2-(4-trifluoromethyl-phenyl)-ethyl]-5,6-dihydro-8H-imidazo[1,5-a]pyrazine-7-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester as an orange oil (254 mg; 42%). LC-MS: tR=1.09 min.; [M+H]+=474.42 g/mol.
