According to the general procedure (GP12), chlorination of 3-ethyl-8-(4-fluoro-3-trifluoromethyl-phenoxymethyl)-1-iodo-5,6-dihydro-8H-imidazo[1,5-a]pyrazine-7-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (844 mg; 1.482 mmol), and purification by FC (DCM/MeOH=60/1) gave the expected product 1-chloro-3-ethyl-8-(4-fluoro-3-trifluoromethyl-phenoxymethyl)-5,6-dihydro-8H-imidazo[1,5-a]pyrazine-7-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester as an orange solid (186 mg; 26%). LC-MS: tR=1.04 min.; [M+H]+=478.39 g/mol.
