Reaction Steps
The compound 28 (900 mg, 2.12 mmol) was dissolved in methanol (8 ml), and a 2N aqueous sodium hydroxide solution (4 ml) was added. The solution was stirred at room temperature for 2 hours, 2 M hydrochloric acid (3 ml) was added, and crystals were collected by filtration. 4-Benzyloxy-5-(4-fluoro-benzylcarbamoyl)-3-methoxy-pyridine-2-carboxylic acid 29 (474 mg, 54%) was obtained as a colorless crystal.
