4-(2-{2-(S)-[2-(R,S)-Benzylcarbamoyl-3-(4-carbamimidoyl-phenyl)-propionylamino]-2-cyclohexyl-acetylamino}-ethyl)-piperazine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (30 mg, 0.04 mmol, example 6b) was treated with a mixture of trifluoroacetic acid/dichloromethane (1/1, 0.5 ml) and stirred for 20 hours. The solvent was evaporated in vacuo and the residue lyophilized to give the desired product. mp.: 196° C. (dc), MS (FAB) m/z: 576.3 ((M+H)+, 100%).
