Oxalic acid is added to an aqueous solution of zirconium oxynitrate and sodium nitrate with stirring and then phosphoric acid is further added. The reaction mixture is adjusted to pH 3.5 with an aqueous sodium hydroxide solution and refluxed with heating for 78 hours. The precipitate is subjected to filtration, washing with water, drying and grinding to obtain zirconium phosphate [NaZr2 (PO4)3 ] having a network structure. The product is immersed in an aqueous solution containing silver ion at a suitable concentration to obtain the compound represented by the formula [1].
