Reaction Steps
In a 10 ml flask, 2,3-dihydro-1H-4-oxa-1,9-diaza-phenanthrene (50 mg, 0.269 mmol) and 3,5-dibromo-4-methoxy-benzoyl chloride (88 mg, 0.269 mmol) were dissolved in dichloromethane. Triethylamine (0.51 ml, 3.7 mmol) was added thereto and then stirred at room temperature for 3 hours. After neutralizing with 1N hydrochloric acid solution, the mixture was extracted with dichloromethane, and the combined organic layer was dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate (Na2SO4), filtered and evaporated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by column chromatography on amine silica eluting with a solvent of dichloromethane:methanol=20:1. The fractions containing the product were collected and evaporated to obtain the target compound as yellow solid (110 mg, 86%).
