Reaction Steps
NaH (0.030 g, 0.75 mmol) was added to cyclopropyl(1H-pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridin-3-yl)methanone (100 mg, 0.534 mmol) in DMF (2 mL) at 0° C. After 10 minutes, tosyl chloride (0.13 g, 0.69 mmol) was added, and the reaction mixture was allowed to warm to room temperature. The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 16 hours and then quenched with ice and water. The mixture was extracted with EtOAc (3×10 mL) and dried over sodium sulfate. Column chromatography afforded cyclopropyl(1-tosyl-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridin-3-yl)methanone (127 mg, 70%) as an oil, which crystallized upon standing.
