A solution of Intermediate 54 (1.2 g, 2.9 mmol) in methanol was treated with palladium on carbon (10% w/w, 50 mg). Mixture was shaken under 50 psi of hydrogen gas for two hours and then filtered through a pad of Celite diatomaceous earth. The filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure to provide the title compound as an oil (1.2 g, 100%). ES/MS calcd. for C21H31F3NO4+ 418.2. Found m/z=418.3 (M+H)+.
