A solution of 2,6-difluoro-N-[1-({2-[(phenylmethyl)oxy]phenyl}methyl)-1H-pyrazol-3-yl]benzamide (for a preparation see Example 59)(2.34 g, 5.58 mmol) in ethyl acetate (20 ml) was stirred overnight with 10% palladium on carbon (wet) (0.594 g, 0.279 mmol) under an atmosphere of hydrogen. The reaction mixture was filtered and the filtrate evaporated in vacuo to give a colourless oil. The oil was dissolved in ether and the solution evaporated in vacuo to give the title compound as a white foam (1.82 g); LCMS: (System 3) MH+=330, tRET=0.92 min.
