To a stirred solution of N-{1-[(2-chloro-6-hydroxyphenyl)methyl]-1H-pyrazol-3-yl}-2,6-difluorobenzamide (for a preparation see Intermediate 11)(0.047 g, 0.13 mmol) in dry DMSO (0.6 ml) in a reactivial was added potassium t-butoxide (0.0145 g, 0.13 mmol). The mixture was stirred for 20 min and then (bromomethyl)cyclobutane (0.023 g, 0.15 mmol, Aldrich) added. The mixture was stirred and heated at 60° C. for 24 h. The cooled reaction mixture was added to chloroform (about 20 ml) and this solution filtered through a hydrophobic frit and evaporated in vacuo. The residue was purified on MDAP (Method B) to give the title compound as a white solid (0.038 g); LCMS: (System 4) MH+=432, tRET=3.36 min.
