Reaction Steps

1-(2-methylsulfanyl-pyrimidin-4-yl)-4-triisopropylsilanyloxy-1H-indole (7.75 g) in THF (50 mL) was mixed with TBAF/THF (8 mL) and allowed to stir at RT for 2 h, then quenched with water. The aqueous layer was acidified with 1N HCl. The resulting solid was filtered, washed with water and dried at 50° C. in vacuo overnight to yield 1-(2-methylsulfanyl-pyrimidin-4-yl)-1H-indol-4-ol (4.5 g).
