4-[4-(3-Carbamoyl-indol-1-yl)-pyrimidin-2-ylamino]-cyclohexanecarboxylic acid ethyl ester (1.397 g, 3.44 mmol) was dissolved in THF, and LiOH (3.4 mL, 1M aq) was added, and the mixture stirred at RT for 6 h, and additional aliquot of LiOH (6.8 mL) added, and the mixture stirred overnight. A light yellow solid formed in the flask. The mixture was concentrated in vacuo to remove THF, more was added, and the solid filtered off, washed with DCM and Et2O, and air-dried overnight to provide 4-[4-(3-carbamoyl-indol-1-yl)-pyrimidin-2-ylamino]-cyclo-hexanecarboxylic acid (1.15 g, 89% yield).
