A solution of tert-butyl 4-imino-1-(4-iodophenyl)-2-oxo-1,3,8-triazaspiro[4.5]decane-8-carboxylate (10 g, 21.3 mmol) in cyclohexylamine (97 mL, 852 mmol) and DMA (100 mL) was stirred at 140° C. for 3 days, sealed, under argon. The reaction mixture was cooled to rt, poured onto ice/water (1000 mL), filtered to afford the desired product as a white solid, after washing with water and drying. LRMS (M+1)=553.
